What problem it solves

A shipping operator has to run vessels compliantly at sea and account for them on shore — same data, two very different environments. Shore teams need visibility, regulators need clean submissions, and crews need something that keeps working when the satellite link doesn't. What was in place was a stack of spreadsheets, email chains and a shared drive — cheap to start with, expensive to run every month, and fragile whenever compliance came calling.

Compliance risk hanging over every month-end

MRV, DCS and IMO submissions are non-negotiable. Missed deadlines mean penalties, audits, and a loss of standing with charterers and banks. Yet the data kept arriving at shore in the last week of the month — as inconsistent spreadsheets and PDFs pulled together on the vessel by hand.

Vessels can't rely on being online

Satellite links drop for hours or days at a time. Any browser-based tool broke exactly when the crew needed it — right when the month was closing. Reports were either re-typed at shore, arrived late, or arrived twice.

Days of expert time on repetitive review

Every bunker delivery, engine trend and defect report had to be read by a technical superintendent, cross-checked, and summarized for the executive team. Multiply that by the fleet, do it every month, and it becomes weeks of highly-paid time on work a machine could draft.
